Michele Myers, is a seasoned professional with over 37 years of experience in project management, contracting and systems engineering. With a Masters Degree in management and an educational background in construction, building science, environmental science and chemistry, Michele has pursued a lifelong interest in improving the environment. She is not a “convert” to healthy green building; going into her 17th year as a home builder, Michele is a healthy green pioneer. Michele has been described as being “healthy and green before healthy and green became cool.”

M Squared Builders & Designers, Inc., 1996-Present:
President

  • Responsible for creating and sustaining a successful residential construction company for the past 19 years
  • Recipient of numerous awards including Pioneer of the Year, Builder of the Year, Builder Director of the Year, finalist in Orange County’s Sustainable Business of the Year, and Parade of Homes Awards
  • Non-discriminatory leader of over 50 diverse subcontractor/vendor teams in the production of each complex custom home and remodeling project
    Designs, develops and executes detailed plans and specifications for new homes and remodeling projects
  • Oversees technical and aesthetic requirements of company projects, as well as financial health, marketing direction, government liaison, and customer relations
  • Founding Chair and current council member of Green Home Builders of the Triangle, an organization leading the building industry in our state in a new, important direction

Cimarron Homes, 1995 to 1996:
Assistant Superintendent

  • Successfully closed 15 single family dwellings, 4 town homes and 2 duplexes in ten months
  • Responsible for all field activities including scheduling and coordination of the trades, managing direct and indirect budgets, conducting code and quality inspections, interacting with customers and sales agents, and troubleshooting issues during construction phase
  • Assisted in lot evaluations, conducted pre-construction meetings and customer walks, and interacted with city building inspection officials regularly

Career spanned over 15 years in support of the U.S. Naval Air, Sea and Electronic Warfare Commands

  • Supported a variety of high profile, research and development and production programs including the V-22 tilt rotor aircraft, helicopter night vision goggles, avionics suite design for all Marine helicopters, Aegis cruiser and amphibious warfare ships, satellite communications, and introduction of fiber optic installation on both aircraft, ships, and military facilities
  • Grew in management responsibilities from the oversight of one employee in 1980 to over 200 in 1993
  • Took control of 25 troubled projects and converted them into profitable contracts
  • Developed expertise in contract and financial management and organizational behavior
  • Became heavily involved in employee development, team building and right sizing, and transitioning technical talent in new directions during a time of constant Navy program budget reductions
  • Formulated and led the business development process for over 100 proposal efforts and successfully obtained $45 million in new business
  • Was selected to attend the Defense Systems Management College, an honor for any member of the services industry

Rachel BathRachel Bath

Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer and Real Estate Broker

Rachel Bath provides M Squared Builders & Designers expertise in financial and business management, strategic planning, team-building and employee development, with over 34 years experience in this arena. Her career background includes operations management and staff supervision for a $40 million environmental services company, and business management in the financial operation of a $70 million division of a research corporation. A Certified Public Accountant, Rachel graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Wilma Oliver

Kitchen Designer

Wilma Oliver has over twenty years design and project management experience. Wilma also has had over five years restaurant management experience. Great design is her passion. She has designed countless kitchens in a variety of design styles…from country, traditional, casual, contemporary, and eclectic. She understands that the key to great design is listening to the clients in order to translate their ideas into a beautiful, tangible reality. Over the past twenty years, she has had the opportunity to attend many vendor training programs, as well as the National Kitchen and Bath Association meetings. In addition, Wilma has an Associate’s Degree from Durham Tech and has taken drafting and several business management courses there outside of her degree requirements. Wilma recognizes that it takes many members to accomplish the goal of a successful design. She uses her communication and coordination skills as a team player to bring together the client, vendors and subcontractors.
